Finalmente gets the narrowest of votes over Raucous, Galient, Ollie George and Mudawin in a most wide-open staying handicap. Finalmente was down the field in the Cesarewitch but bounced back with a fine third to Wannabe Posh on his reappearance over 12-furlongs here a fortnight ago. Successful on soft ground over the course-and-distance this time last year, Neville Callaghan's charge should come on for the run, and is the pick. Raucous looked the part when making all at Ripon last time, and having bypassed a crack at the Chester Cup, is expected to make his presence felt off a light weight. The ground might be against him though, while Galient, who did participate at Chester, is another that is not certain to enjoy the cut in the ground. Likewise Ollie George, whose best form has all been on faster going, but he does at least line up fit and in form. Mudawin looks just about held by the selection on latest form here, while of the Dunlop pair, Eva Soneva So Fast holds a fitness edge over Velvet Heights, but neither make that much appeal at present. All in all, we shall remain loyal to Finalmente.
