Verdict

Some improving types in opposition in a tight betting heat but the vote goes to Honourine ahead of Ocean Victory, Gift Horse and Gems Bond. Pip Payne's filly has proved a model of consistency this term and was notching her second success of the current campaign when coming late to beat a useful yardstick at Doncaster earlier in the month. The selection remains open to further improvement and looks capable of defying a subsequent 3lb rise in the hands of Seb Sanders. Ocean Victory was narrowly denied a hat-trick at Haydock last time and the form has been boosted since so Jeremy Noseda's charge holds strong claims despite conceding weight all round. Gift Horse is one of the least exposed and gets in on a fair mark for her handicap debut having opened her account in comfortable fashion at Sandown last month while recent course and distance winner Gems Bond is another to consider but Honourine's turn of foot may prove decisive.
