    In depth

    Verdict

Mullins Bay has been much improved of late and is taken to resume winning ways, having been outclassed in the Queen Elizabeth II, at the main expense of Polar Bear and Mountain High. The last mentioned is lightly raced and could well be open to improvement especially on this softer surface. Into The Dark disappointed in a Listed race here last time but has claims on earlier form, while Hazyview is capable of playing a part judged by official BHB ratings but would probably be better on a faster surface. Eccentric has done most of his racing on the all-weather and remains potentially interesting on turf although he is another that may want faster ground. St Andrews has place claims but a bigger threat is likely to come from Polar Bear, who should relish the underfoot conditions. The vote though goes to Mullins Bay, who has done little wrong of late and is taken to resume winning ways.
