      Verdict

Local Hero has been knocking on the door but so has COMMUNICATOR, who looks better treated. Michael Bell's four-year-old hasn't many miles on the clock and showed he handled soft ground when third to the smart Aiken in the Great Metropolitan at Epsom in the spring. A couple of pounds lower now, he may be his turn today. John Louis is in good form while Mountain Range wouldn't be far away on his best form and the three year-olds Inthar and Educate are open to further improvement. The Godolphin colt looks sure to appreciate the step up in distance but soft ground would put his participation in doubt and Ismail Mohammed's charge also won his maiden on a much quicker surface.
