Verdict

Crying Lightening bounced back to form in a conditions race in Dubai last month but is likely to find this considerably tougher. Aidan O'Brien's Sing Softly has already won twice at the Curragh this season and is sure to be popular while October's C&D winner Qushchi is open to further improvement this year. Ladies Are Forever is probably best watched on her first try at this longer trip but Barefoot Lady's breeding suggests she'll appreciate the extra and Show Rainbow will have no problem lasting home. Lily Again won a Listed contest over this trip at Sandown last summer but had her limitations exposed subsequently so the one to beat here may be MAQAASID. From the same family as 1000 Guineas winner Ghanaati, John Gosden's Green Desert filly did well to win the Queen Mary Stakes over 5f as a two-year-old and didn't enjoy much luck in running when third in the Cheveley Park Stakes here on her final start of 2010. She's fancied to make a winning reappearance in this.
