Verdict

The brilliant Australia-based BRAZEN BEAU was doubly unfortunate in the Group 1 Diamond Jubilee at Royal Ascot - firstly to bump into a top USA sprinter Undrafted and then to be drawn on the outside with no company. The fact that he got so close to the winner speaks volumes for his ability and today can provide ample compensation. Muhaarar looks the only realistic alternative after his emphatic victory in the Group 1 Commonwealth Cup where he looked a very high-class sprinter. He'll bounce off the quick ground and will ensure the selection doesn't have things his own way. Muthmir couldn't quite get to Goldream in the King's Stand Stakes but the extra furlong should be in his favour but most of the remainder were beaten at Ascot including Anthem Alexander though Eddie Lynam's filly was having only her second run since September in the Commonwealth Cup and her trainer certainly knows how to win these big sprints.
