    Verdict

It's hardly surprising that David Barron is striking while the iron is hot with PEARL ICE, who takes his chance here with a penalty after Thursday's smooth victory at Ripon, He'll get more than 6lb when reassessed and can complete a quick double. Es Que Love looks a massive threat as he ran the race of his life when beaten a neck by Slade Power in a Listed contest at Haydock last week. Piazza San Pietro was staying on very strongly behind Chil The Kite at Goodwood and a big run from the winner in the previous race will be a boost to the form. Swiss Franc has won twice in 24 starts - both times on this track - so he's one to note from his lowly spot in the handicap as is Irish Heartbeat, whose two runs this term will have blown away the cobwebs.
