Verdict

BIG NOISE is given another chance to win a big pot with Al Khaleej and Splendorinthegrass feared most. Dr Scargill's stable star has to race from a 6lb higher mark than when a one and three quarter length fourth behind the smart Kalahari Gold in last year's renewal but may still be worth siding with. His career faltered somewhat last season but he followed the run in this race by chasing home Riggins on his next start and is clearly smart on his day. He was impressive for this rider on his return and is open to further improvement after just twelve starts. Prior to last year, three year olds had struggled in this race but Splendorinthegrass looks capable of running a big race despite only having a maiden success to his name. He was asked to contest a Group 3 on his second outing at two which is an indication of the regard in which he's held and his reappearance is best ignored as he palpably failed to act on the ground. Conditions here look ideal and he's been handed a Group entry for later in the year so will be expected to run a big race from a mark of 94. Al Khaleej steps up to a more suitable trip having flashed home over six furlongs on his first run since May of last year. Large weights have been successfully carried in two of the last three renewals and he'll be a danger to all. Musaalem and Taqdeyr are two more with leading claims whilst Dhaular Dhar is a regular in these races but his record on this course isn't compelling and Signor Peltro could cause more problems but Big Noise is taken to raise the roof.
