This is a hard one to call so only a narrow vote goes the way of Kew Green over a whole host of possibles including Spanish Don, Hazyview, Resplendent One and Blythe Knight. Kew Green produced an incredible performance in the Coral Rosebery Handicap at Kempton in March, rearing up and missing the break before somehow making up the ground to get up and beat St Andrews in a photo. Paul Webber's charge has obviously benefited from a back operation, and in his current mood, must surely go close despite the strength of the opposition. Spanish Don won the Cambridgeshire here last October and with his stable in fine fettle at present, is just one of many dangers along with Hazyview who appeared to be quickly returning to the form that he showed last term when a close second in Group 3 company at Sandown last month. Topweight may hinder his chance here but it would be folly to leave him out. Resplendent One lost his place but rallied behind Fine Silver at Newbury and is no back number, and Blythe Knight has been placed on a number of occasions but is a shade high in the weights at present. The list is endless in such an open contest, but Kew Green needs only repeat his last effort to be in with a big say.
