Verdict

Just four runners contest this valuable contest and all can be given some sort of chance, however we will give the vote to Mr Vegas with Desert Move and Detroit City the two to fight for the forecast position. Peter Chapple-Hyam's colt easily landed a maiden at Leicester before chasing home Melrose Avenue in the Queens Vase. That winner is rated 104 and so this son of Montjue is very well treated ion this contest. Detroit City landed a hat-trick on the all-weather in March and returned to winning ways on the turf last time, easily beating Woodford Consult at Nottingham. This is a big step up in class but he should be capable of going close. Desert Move was totally out-classed in the Ribblesdale Stakes but will find the opposition a lot less taxing. She had previously finished fourth in the Pretty Polly Stakes and in receipt of five pounds from the colts she should be involved in the finish. Heathcote is steadily improving and beat a 76 rated horse last time which puts him in a slim chance. So a fascinating start to the card and Mr Vegas just gets the decision.
