In depth

Verdict

Winter Thunder won twice here over 1m2f on fast ground and started odds-on for a handicap over this trip on the July Course in August. Unfortunately for his supporters, he collided with a rival after veering left at the start and was never travelling well thereafter. He's a very progressive son of New Approach and looks sure to be thereabouts. KELINNI arrived from Australia with a rating of 106 which was too high. He's gradually dropped to a fair mark despite running reasonably well and his young rider's claim can see him gain his first victory for Marco Botti. Kinshasa has won two of his six starts and though not quite able to peg back Notarised at Yarmouth it was a good effort in a decent contest and he should go well. Yenhaab steps up to the trip for the first time while Fire Fighting wasn't suited by Chester on his hat-trick attempt and can do better. Soul Intent and Ruwasi arrive in winning form and, in a very open handicap, also have to be considered.
