NAVE, once a useful handicapper for Mark Johnston, lost his way but has returned with a bang, winning his last two races by a combined 12 lengths. He is still fairly treated despite an 8lb rise for his Epsom victory and can complete a hat-trick. Paloma's Prince was well beaten in that latter event but didn't get the best of runs and should finish closer. Spiritoftomintoul is the unknown quantity in the race having run just three times and making his handicap debut. He will have needed his run at Doncaster in June and time may tell he's on a lenient mark. Halfsin was well beaten on his only start over this trip though that was in better class and he wasn't stopping over 1m2f at Doncaster last time.
