In depth

Verdict

A tough handicap where Flamboyant Lad makes plenty of appeal at the weights and is selected in preference to Corsican Native, Namroc and Countrywide Luck, who are the least exposed runners in the field and should make an impact now that they step into handicap company. A few of the rest have already had many chances, but the likes of Boule D'Or and Parkview Love have enough experience between them to be considered as wily characters that can play a strong part as things unfold. However, the concession of so much weight to an obviously improving individual like Flamboyant Lad means that they will have to be at the absolute top of their game and a place in the frame may be the best their respective connections can hope for. Hello It's Me another to throw into the mix if the best of his form is taken into account. But the fact that Michael Hills will be doing just 4lb above his minimum racing weight is a sufficient insight into how good a chance Flamboyant Lad has on these terms and the hint should not be dismissed lightly.
