Verdict

Tourist has more to do first time in a handicap than when landing his maiden at Nottingham earlier this month and a safer bet looks to be TOPAZES, who has shown a good and consistent level of form this term and Michael Bell's colt is taken to resume ways with the main danger rated as Stevie Thunder. The last mentioned has, like the selection, been in good form this term but a 5lb rise for his latest success at Sandown may prevent him from following up. Themwerethedays has more to do than when landing a Wolverhampton maiden last time and of more interest may be David Barker's lightly-raced Boy Blue. Celtic Strand made an encouraging return over course and distance last month and Tom Tate's gelding has solid claims off the same mark today, while Reel Buddy Star is open to improvement but needs to improve to trouble the judge. Several of these have claims but it is Topazes that gets the vote.
