In depth

Verdict

Kyllachy Star made a promising debut on fast ground at Carlisle earlier this month and has to be respected but the softer ground today is of concern to Richard Fahey's colt and a better bet may be On Offer, who gets the vote with Aegean Warning rated the pick of the remainder. The selection stepped up on his debut outing at Redcar when chasing home Common Diva in a good ground maiden auction race at Pontefract. The softer ground today should be of no worry to Tim Easterby's filly and she looks the one they all have to beat. Bryan Smart's Snow Bay ran promisingly on his Hamilton debut last month and, being by Bahamian Bounty, he should handle the cut in the ground so has to be respected. Mick Quinlan has his team in good form at present so his newcomer Welcome Applause is worthy of consideration, while a market move for Tapis Wizard would be of interest. Aegean Warning ran much better at Doncaster last time and has claims but he may want a faster surface and preference is for On Offer.
