Verdict

Dual Group 1 winner REGAL PARADE escapes a penalty for his superb victory in the Prix Maurice De Gheest at Deauville and his close second to Delegator in the Duke Of York Stakes is by far the best recent form on show here. Genki was over four lengths away at York and can have little prospect of reversing the form and though Doncaster Rover was just a short-head behind the selection at Haydock last month that was over 7f and he was behind Genki at Newmarket earlier. Rain Delayed was further behind at York and had done better over the minimum trip previously but it would be no surprise to see the useful handicapper Waffle run well as he steps up in grade, especially with further give in the ground. Winker Watson had a brilliant juvenile campaign but that was a long time ago and he hasn't run for two years.
