CHARLIE TIPPLE has solid claims on these terms and is selected ahead of old rivals Ezdeyaad, Flipando and Wovoka. The last named is an old foe of the selection and is well treated on the pick of his (very) old form. However, three recent wins have pushed him to within 3lb of his highest winning mark, so only his very best endeavour will suffice. Flipando, winner of this race in 2006, still retains plenty of enthusiasm and is likely to appreciate the ground. Neil Brown knows him well and he can go close if he gets the breaks in running. Ezdeyaad has a bit more scope than a few of the others and would be dangerous if he is allowed an easy lead. He meets the selection on the same terms as when they met at Haydock last week and is likely to have a bold attempt at reversing the form. However, Charlie Tipple loves these straight courses and, as he has steadily run into form this season, now might be the right time to catch Tim Easterby's gelding.
