In depth

Verdict

Kalahari King missed an intended engagement at Ayr on Thursday because the ground was too testing and Ferdy Murphy's gelding can justify that move by taking this prior to a trip to the festival, getting the verdict ahead of Striking Article and Andytown. The last mentioned has improved with each start and has to be respected but may prefer more testing going to be seen at his best so looks best watched. Lazy Darren showed improved form when successful at Wetherby last time but this looks tougher, while Solid Silver had some decent bumper form but is hard to recommend on his first start over hurdles. All For The Cause is held by Striking Article on running at Wetherby and Howard Johnson's gelding looks the main threat to the selection, Kalahari King.
