In depth

Verdict

The opener is probably best watched with only one runner with any racecourse experience but if you must have a punt the selection is DONNY BRIGGS ahead of Mickle Bower and Red Onion. The pick for Ted Easterby is the only runner in the race, who has seen a racecourse and in a field of complete unknowns that should be vital. Those two outings have so far showed some ability and with winners in the family he looks well set. Mickle Bower is as well bred as any of these and has chances based on that while Red Onion was expensive enough to suggest connections have hopes for this one. However, it appears that most of his winning relatives did their stuff over short trips on the flat although there is some stamina in the less successful members of the family. Lough Inchiquinn should have the stamina to make a staying chaser in the future but in this contest we go with experience in the form of Donny Briggs.
