In depth

Verdict

Fast ground is the key to Bonnie Rock and she can see off Buckstruther and Its Teescomponents. Bonnie Rock did beat off Buckstruther when the pair met here a couple of weeks ago and if the mare has improved from only a couple of previous starts, she could be open to any amount of progression. Buckstruther is better in today although 0 from 12 has made an expensive punting medium. Its Teescomponents had solid bumper form on decent ground in the past but gave a no show when a favourite for a Kelso novice hurdle. Panthers Run has threatened to win staying hurdles of this nature but invariably folds up dramatically in a finish. Front running, Film Festival is worth a look if the market speaks in his favour. Irish raider, Fiery Riley is a mare that the bookies are likely to take cover over. Oleolat is exposed as moderate although this race is hardly the greatest ever to be staged at the North East track. Bonnie Rock looks the most progressive of this bunch and we side with her accordingly.
