In depth

Verdict

With Forever's Girl and Gee Gina difficult to enthuse about on recent evidence this should rest between the other quartet and CORTON CHARLEMAGNE is nominated. Rae Guest's filly showed plenty of guts when sticking on well to win from a mark of 63 at Windsor last time and handles this quicker going too. The minimum trip looked ideal that day and her handler keeps her to it this time, with the very useful Freddie Tylicki booked to negate half of her 6lb penalty. Support for her would fuel confidence and she looks capable of going in again. Dispol Grand is 5lbs better off with the penalised Angelo Poliziano for around two lengths when the latter won here earlier in the month, but the Midgley inmate has never won on ground faster than good and may just have conditions against him again today. The latter, on the other hand, loves to hear his hooves rattle and is entitled to go very close in his repeat bid at the track. Arriva La Diva is in cracking form and should compete once again from a mark of just 51, but Corton Charlemagne should hopefully have too much class.
