Verdict

Not the best handicap for the grade which should allow KING FINGAL to get his head in front again from Magic Echo and Northside Prince. The selection got up late to win an average handicap on his latest start but that was a step in the right direction. His form this year has already bettered that of 2009 and he looks to be on the up. A good five lbs claimer eases his penalty for his last win and should go well again providing this smaller runner field puts on enough pace. A false run race would not suit this horse. Magic Echo represents a stable very much in form and must be monitored. His latest form is not bad either but he may need some cut to be seen at best. Northside Prince ran in a better race than this 27 days ago but he didn't cut much ice on his seasonal debut. Expect a better run today from the Swinbank horse. Sudden Impulse won his latest start but has more on his plate today so we will return to King Fingal for the win.
