Flinty Bay has run well in both starts for Nicky Richards in finishing third in a bumper at Ayr and a novice hurdle at Carlisle but he may have to settle for minor honours again with CRACKENTORP looking worth siding with on his hurdles debut. Very useful on the level when earning a rating of 90, Tim Easterby's gelding is sure to have been well schooled at home and can make a winning debut over timber. Howard Johnson's Warrior One landed a maiden hurdle at Wetherby well enough last month but this is tougher under his penalty, while dual bumper winner Storm Brig may not have the pace of the selection. Micky Hammond's Alsahil was capable on the flat and has to be considered first time up over hurdles but he does not make as much appeal as Crackentorp.
