    Verdict

FOCAIL MAITH failed to figure dropped back in trip at Kempton last time but had been threatening to score over today's distance before that. He won on heavy ground last year and John Ryan's charge gets the vote to come out best on today's surface. Reason To Believe finished third over C&D last month and makes more appeal than fast ground mile winner Shadow Catcher as the latter has yet to run over this longer trip. Ollon and Spyder are struggling for form, but Southwell maiden winner William Haigh may be capable of better on only his third start.
