In depth

Verdict

Skit is the fortunate recipient of our tentative vote in this staying handicap in which Toboggan Lady and Cavendish boast solid credentials. A little will depend on the going which is currently described as soft but could have dried out considerably by the time the race gets underway. The selection won a shade cosily for this yard on his first attempt at this trip back in 2006 but missed the whole of 2007. In the circumstances, his run at Southwell in April was satisfactory and he may be able to resume his upward curve this evening. Cavendish has won his last two starts on grass and hasn't been given a hard time by the handicapper so should be in the thick of things again whilst Toboggan Lady has made the first two on seven of her twelve turf starts and should have leading claims in this company. Let It Be looks regressive, Kristiansand didn't deign to participate last time, Sendali flopped when gambled on on his latest start but Forrest Flyer has the potential to get involved. However, we're going to hope that Skit can prove that he retains his ability following his absence by recording the second success of his career.
