      Verdict

Four possible contenders stand out in this maiden, namely St. Barchan, Kyber, Rigonza and Little Bob with the vote going to the last named. Little Bob has been a model of consistency of late and his best effort to date was when third of sixteen to Into The Dark at Doncaster on his penultimate start. Excuses can be made for his last effort at Ripon when he veered violently left and was virtually pulled up. If back to his best he should take all the beating. St. Barchan is worthy of mention on his only career start when fourth of eight at Lingfield. Although beaten eight lengths improvement is in the cards and any market moves may prove significant Rigonza was flattered by his placing on his latest outing for he was beaten a fair way and may prove better in handicap company, while the same can be said for Kyber who is less exposed and will be searching for a decent rating. So for the winner we return to Little Bob.
