In depth

Verdict

Sunderland Echo, Mulligans Gold and Dasheena are all of interest and we side with Sunderland Echo. Brian Ellison has had a desperate winter but Sunderland Echo will have put the spring in his step as he ran out an impressive winner of a Pontefract maiden. Tom Eaves is riding with a lot of confidence at the moment and the pair look sure to exploit the near side rail. Mulligans Gold is another who will race up with the pace. Backers do have to take a chance with the ground but if there is any overnight rain, that would certainly assist matters. Mulligan's Gold is another who will have plenty of use made of him. He looked to have strengthened up for a winter on his back so a follow-up to his Catterick victory cannot be ruled out. Dasheena has been ultra-consistent since joining Mark Polglaise. Fit from a spell on the all-weather, a bold bid can be anticipated. Northern Cross is still a maiden but is stepped up in trip. Mormeatmic seemed to appreciate the good-to-soft conditions at Catterick. Second placed, Toy Top has gone on to score since so the early morning moves are noted. Trombone Tom is blessed with plenty of early pace and could well make a bid over the far rail. Damika's sole victory came on the all-weather in Spain and more is needed on British debut. A tight knit handicap and if Sunderland Echo can handle the surface, he has to be a big player.
