Claude Greengrass is taken to make a successful start to his chasing career, with Another Joker, Flinders Chase and Ballyrobert all expected to go well. Jonjo O'Neill has been waiting for the ground to ease before unleashing Claude Greengrass over jumps, and the seven-year-old takes his chance here. Touched off when the subject of a mighty gamble over hurdles at Catterick last term, he has since made amends, and was given a pipe-opener at Carlisle last month. Eased down to win comfortably, he could be a star in the making if his jumping does not let him down. He gets over a stone from Flinders Chase, who is vastly more experienced over the bigger obstacles, but who only opened his account at the 11th time of asking at Exeter recently. However, that was on his seasonal reappearance, so he too will come on for the run. It is asking a lot though to hump 12st 6lb round here, and he is passed over. Another Joker jumped well when scoring at Haydock, making all and as long as there is no more rain, he should give a good account, while Ballyrobert showed that he is over past problems when making all at Towcester. He can make the frame, but for us it has to be Claude Greengrass to make an immediate impact over fences.
