Another tough handicap to get to grips with and only a slender vote of confidence goes to Linnet, whose experience at the trip gives her the edge over Manda Island and La Bella Grande. Another one to bear in mind is Rumbalara, who takes a drop in class today. However, jockey bookings suggest that Manda Island is John Gosden's first string and it will be no surprise to see the betting market react accordingly. The daughter of Dynaformer has plenty of scope for improvement and should have little problem with the trip. La Bella Grande took her time to get going when she won at Nottingham earlier in the month. She may have been good value for her winning margin on the day but she did not create the impression that a step up trip would bring the best out of her. By way on contrast, Linnet is ideally suited to ten furlongs and, as the likes of Lysandra will help to make the price for us, Amada Perrett's charge rates as the one to single out in a tough race to call.
