In depth

Verdict

There are several in with a chance in this competitive handicap, but Master Robbie is in peak form and just gets the vote ahead of Young Alex and Bishopstone Man. Mick Channon's four-year-old got going too late in a valuable handicap at Goodwood last time, having earlier scored in emphatic style at Salisbury. He should be suited by this stiffer track and looks the safest option. Young Alex hinted at a return to form when staying on in sixth over an inadequate trip at Hamilton recently. Karl Burke's charge is well treated on his best form and travels a long way to contest for this prize. Bishopstone Man wasn't beaten far at Bath recently and now races off the same mark as when last successful at Brighton last season and has each-way claims along with White Emir, who was fourth in this race last year off a seven pound higher mark.
