      Verdict

A competitive contest with Cesarewitch gamble Misternando attempting to recoup losses, however, although this ultra tough customer is sure to have his supporters again he may just find this coming too soon for him and a chance is taken with Pershaan, who showed vast improvement for a step up to this trip for the first time at Chester, even though she was touched off by another of today's opponents, Snow's Ride, to whom she was giving 13lbs. Raised 5lbs for that effort, she meets her rival on 3lbs better terms for two-lengths, which should see her turn the tables, especially as this more galloping track should suit her long stride much better. Snow's Ride has since disappointed at Newcastle and the key to him could be soft ground, something he won't get here. What can be said about Misternando? Tough and consistent, he is now 42lbs higher than when gaining his first success at Yarmouth this season, back in June. A winner of eight of his last 12 starts, he is a credit to his trainer. He is closely matched with Simon's Seat, Mersey Sound and King Eider on Ascot running last month, but it can only be a matter of time before his busy schedule catches up with him. Anak Pekan may improve for the step up in trip here, but he will need to, while that grand old-timer Prairie Falcon will surely find one or two of these too sharp for him on these terms. So, in what is a fascinating staying contest, the unexposed filly Pershaan is the hopeful selection.
