      Verdict

      Eve Johnson Houghton is doing well with her juveniles and will be glad to see one of her two contenders earn black type at least with Cool Bahamian, a neck winner over Fair Ranger at Pontefract last time looking the likelier. However, he's held by THUNDER STRIKE on Woodcote Stakes running at Epsom earlier in the season when the Hannon charge was a most impressive and decisive scorer. He followed up with a meritorious fourth behind the highly-rated War Command in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot and sets a tough standard for others to match despite conceding weight all round. Miracle Of Medinah will need to improve again so Survived looks the main danger in receipt of 8lb from the topweight. Sixth in the Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot, she looked ready for the step-up to 6f when a possibly unlucky fourth in Listed grade at Sandown last time.
