Verdict

A trio of potentially smart newcomers on show in the opener. Richard Hannon has won four of the last six renewals and Victrix Ludorum is entered in the upcoming valuable sales races. She makes more appeal than stablemate Equitissa, well beaten here on her debut. Tantshi is entered in the Cheveley Park Stakes which suggests she's shown ability at home but the Fillies' Mile entry ABATED is the most interesting of the debutants. She's a sister to Bated Breath and a half-sister to another high-class stablemate in Cityscape and Roger Charlton's filly may well be good enough to land this on her debut. Supernova Heights make most appeal of those with experience as she had Talqaa behind when fifth at Goodwood last time and Frankie takes over the reins here.
