Verdict

In this Conditions race we like the look of Blues And Royals ahead of Grand Marque, Mastman and Obe Gold. The selection looked a very bright prospect when scoring at York on his debut and this $400,000 purchase will be a warm order to follow up here.It would be no surprise to see him do so and continue the Godolphin operation's very good season. Turning to his opponents and the Richard Hannon-trained Grand Marque left his debut effort behind when scoring over course distance last time, where Mastman was a two-length second, and Obe Gold was narrowly denied in an Italian Group 3 race last time. Hannon also runs the debutant Just A Try and both he and Mick Channon's William Tell must have been showing something at home to get entered in this type of event at the first time of asking. They will have to be very decent to score today, particularly with the selection. Blues And Royals in the field.
