Verdict

Pether's Moon still boasts a remarkably consistent record despite not always looking the most straightforward and was more than good enough to land the Glorious Stakes at Goodwood last time. The first-time application of blinkers could well aid his cause and a strong performance is anticipated. However, SOMEWHAT receives narrow preference in receipt of 13lb as the Dynaformer colt's surprise Eclipse third at 100/1 is looking no fluke in the light of a subsequent close third to Snow Sky in the Gordon Stakes at Goodwood. Cafe Society is one to note despite being held by Pether's Moon on latest running, while it would be folly to exclude the claims of the globe-trotting Red Cadeaux now that the Ed Dunlop yard is back in form.
