REGAL PARADE won this easily a year ago and has been running well enough, including when mid-division in the July Cup, to get back to winning ways as he escapes a penalty for his subsequent Group 1 success in France. Markab started favourite here a year ago but was well beaten so it was a surprise when he won the Group 1 Betfred at Haydock when Regal Parade was behind. He also escapes a penalty and is a big threat. Deacon Blues is a progressive sprinter who deserves a crack at this grade after beating a huge field in the Wokingham though he has little in hand of Pastoral Player here as Hughie Morrison's charge was conceding 5lb at Ascot and only beaten three lengths.
