In depth

Verdict

A wide open contest rounds off the card and many have chances on their best form but the principals look to be Extravagance, Veenwouden and Angel Sprints and the narrow vote is given to Veenwouden. The selection ran as if in need of the run when eighth on his first outing of the season behind Lacework. That form has since been franked and with improvemet likely off what remains a fair mark he looks the one to be on. Extravagance rates the main danger on his latest third behind Zonta Zikala. He will relish this longer trip and he should be watched in the market with his yard in top form. Angel Sprints is game and consistent and is sure to run his race but he looks vulnerable under top weight. Carcinetto is sure to have the race run to suit and could go well at a price while Linda Green would be a danger to all if the rain arrives, but for the winner we return to Veenwouden.
