Elcanos gained a surprise though ultimately comfortable victory in a novices' handicap at Fairyhouse a month ago and can go well again despite a 10lb rise. Midnight Present, who finished fifth, should get much closer on the revised terms. Shorecliffe King was in excellent form at this time last year but a long absence isn't in his favour in this tough handicap. Givemeabuzz landed a Tramore handicap over this trip on New Year's Day and though not managing a repeat over an extra quarter-mile at Limerick ran well enough to get involved here.
