In depth

Verdict

VILMAN improved run-by-run as a juvenile, ending his campaign with a convincing success in a 9f Tipperary maiden, suggesting he was a decent three-year-old in the making. Backed into odds-on favouritism on his April reappearance, he was no match for King Christophe in a three-horse affair and hasn't been seen since. The soft ground may have been to blame that day and he's worth another chance here in an ordinary affair on ground to suit despite having to concede plenty of weight all round. Magic Kitten was a shock winner last time at Gowran Park, eclipsing all previous efforts and cannot be ruled out now but she is 4lb out of the handicap here and faces totally different underfoot conditions. Masterchippy is a possible improver whilst Ballydoyle turn to blinkers in a bid to spark up their beautifully-bred filly, Terracotta.
