In depth

Verdict

PALACE started favourite for what looked a strong maiden at Leopardstown earlier this month but could only finish fourth. She'll improve for the experience and the runner-up went one better on Thursday so the form looks strong enough for this. Gorteo is undoubtedly the form pick on her second to Terrific at the Curragh in August but both runs to date have been on very fast ground. Leafy Suburb was unfancied on her debut at the Curragh in October and trailed in last after being bumped at the start. She'll do better as will Eloge, who completely missed the break on her opening run at Dundalk.
