In depth

Verdict

In a race that should not take a great deal of winning, Baylaw Star gets the vote to win this nursery with Obe Bold and Gemini Girl rated the main dangers. The selection comes from the in-form stable of David Barron and the Hamilton claiming stakes winner looks worth another chance back over the minimum having failed to stay six furlongs in a nursery at Haydock last time. Redcar maiden winner Obe Bold has disappointed since that success in May including in this grade last time and a bigger threat may be Gemini Girl. Micky Hammond's filly had little chance behind the useful Cape Trafalgar on her most recent start but the handicapper has given her a chance by dropping her 5lbs since. Of the remainder, Kevin Ryan's Bridgewater Boys and Finians Gold, who has had the three runs necessary for a handicap mark are worthy of a mention but Baylaw Star could be different class to these and gets the vote.
