Verdict

A large number of these come into this race in poor form but one horse which that comment does not apply to is LITTLE SHILLING who can complete the hat-trick here under his cumulative penalty. Formerly trained by Ben Pollock, Little Shilling is one of quite a few horses which Tim Vaughan has managed to improve within a short space of time. The easy winner of a seller only 10 days ago at Fakenham, he bolted up only four days ago at Ludlow and provided this race does not come too quickly and it should not do, considering the ease at which he achieved Monday's victory, he should land this. Tara Queen was well supported last time out but did not run according to market confidence. She is a maiden after 12 starts and while her most recent form leaves something to be desired, she did show some ability earlier in her career and the assessor has given her a chance by dropping her to a mark of 91. Glen Rouge was prominent for part of the journey at Newcastle last time before tiring quite badly inside the final half mile. His best form is on livelier surfaces, he looks to be on a reasonable mark and if blinkers do have an effect applied here for the second time, he is a contender and he should pick up races, perhaps against sorts who are not as well treated as Little Shilling. Description will be suited by ground conditions and at bigger prices he could provide some value. He is an Irish bumper winner on this ground and while he has not vindicated connections decision to recruit him from Ireland, he was running a big race when tipping up two starts back. Nobody could envisage the ease at which Little Shilling landed his two victories and although cumulative penalties are not easy to defy, an additional 7lb for his latest victory should not prove any hindrance.
