In depth

Verdict

AMANDA CARTER is an interesting recruit to hurdling and is fancied to see off Just For Jean and Annie May in an open contest. The selection is rated 85 on the flat and she has won six times in her career. She stays well so this trip should be well within in her reach and she can put her flat speed to good use on this track that favours speed horses. Annie May is rated 115 after a series of consistent efforts at this level in Ireland. She is an obvious player travelling across for this winnable race. Itstooearly ran well at Kelso last month and rates a player if repeating that form now dropped to maiden company, Just For Jean represents a yard in good form and needs respect on her hurdling bow with the ground likely to suit, whilst Watercolours hasn't been seen since an Ayr fourth in January. The winner of that race Lie Forrit has really franked the form since and this daughter of Derby winner High Chaparral must be considered a major player. The market will help in this opening race but preference is for Amanda Carter.
