Verdict

Stablemates Joshua The First and Bassett Road have slipped down the weights but both would also prefer some cut in the ground. Silver Rime is another on the slide but deservedly so as he's shown nothing in either start this season. Insolenceofoffice won a less competitive race at Southwell last week and steps up in trip today and another chance goes to CARA'S REQUEST. It's tempting to put his recent failure at Thirsk down to an 11lb hike in the weights for an earlier six length victory over track and trip. But he got into a scrap for the lead last time and Michael Dods' charge looks more likely to get his own way up front in this company.
