In depth

Verdict

A trappy amateurs' handicap for starters but BRASINGAMAN ERIC has shown improved form with each run this term and only succumbed by a head here last time over 2f less. A winner over this trip, a repeat of that latest effort would see him take this. Three White Socks houses some fair form but does tend to reserve his best for the Southwell fibresand where all three career successes have arrived. He'll probably go well enough for Brian Ellison but recent Catterick winner, Jan Smuts, looks a stronger threat on that notably improved effort. Course and distance winner Talk Of Saafend is fit from jumping and rates a noteworthy contender too.
