Verdict

The four-year-old JALINGO, a winner on the Flat for Mark Johnston, couldn't quite get to Zarib on his debut over hurdles at Newbury but had the remainder well behind and should go one better. Gilnockie did well in bumpers and made a highly encouraging debut over timber on this course behind the long odds-on Arabic History. He shouldn't be long going one better while seven-times Flat winner Ginger Jack looks a nice recruit to hurdling for Keith Dalgleish. Star Date will have needed his first start for Lucinda Russell at Kelso last month and is expected to do much better.
