In depth

Verdict

Fremen has been finding one too good but can come good today at the main expense of Imperial Echo, Daaweitza and Stonehaugh. Dandy Nicholl's seven-year-old has run with great credit on his last two outings having been dropped back to this seven furlong trip. He has a good draw today and now 7lbs below his highest winning mark, he should go close. Stonehaugh should be watched in the market for signs of support and with his favoured quick ground today, he looks sure to put up a bold show having won on his reappearance last season. Flying Bantam is three pounds out of the handicap but still has place claims at least, having advertised his well-being with a gritty win at Thirsk a fortnight ago. Daaweitza, Choysia and H Harrison all have solid claims given their consistency however of more interest for win purposes may be the well-handicapped Blue Tomato. An open contest, and Fremen gets the tentative vote.
