Alambic is bred to be useful over this trip and despite disappointing on her reappearance in a Beverley handicap over this distance may be worth another chance in a poor looking event where the main dangers look to be Kyle of Lochalsh and Rare Coincidence. The last mentioned bounced back to winning ways when beating Mary Gray in a soft ground handicap at Hamilton last month and may not be as effective on today's faster ground. Nakwa has slipped to a fair mark but is held by Kyle Of Lochalsh on running over course and distance last time and it is hard to see how he can reverse that form. Starmix is difficult to recommend on recent evidence and of more interest may be Mark Brisbourne's Bint Il Sultan, who is consistent but has yet to prove himself over this far. Alambic was disappointing last time but may have needed that first run of the season and gets the vote to make amends today.
