In depth

Verdict

Forevertheoptimist was always handy when scoring over 6f a fortnight ago and his handler is adept at getting improvement from his runners. Sand Stamp ran very well behind the in-form Ganas over 6f and again behind the progressive Surfer over this C&D so has to be respected. Nawwar and Curzon Line are interesting newcomers to Dubai with the latter having won twice at Kempton in the summer while Discoverer won twice on Polytrack for John Gosden a year ago. MAATH GOOL was in good form at last year's Carnival and reappeared in November to score at Abu Dhabi. He didn't quite run up to that form over a mile here a couple of weeks later but his fitness is an advantage and he gets the vote.
