Verdict

Carrigeen Lantana, who won a point-to-point at Laurencetown in the spring, is sure to be popular on his first start for Donald McCain given the stable's excellent record with similar types in bumpers. But ETHELWYN lost nothing in defeat on her debut at Southwell and, with improvement likely, can go one better here as she has more scope than either Daisie Raymond or Twinkling Light. Pennys Double has a cracking NH pedigree and her half-sister, Flemens Pride, won on her debut in a bumper but her stable's runners often need a run or two.
